Birthday Party for Jesus

Something we do every year is hold a birthday party for Jesus to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas.  Tonight we had the B family join us, and it was such a fun night.  I cooked up several pounds of taco meat, and we used it to make crunchy tacos, soft tacos, and taco salads.  We finished up the meal with a homemade cookie cake complete with candles.  I bought the wrong kind of icing, so instead of the thick buttercream icing that everyone loves of their cookie cakes, it was more like that flood icing you use to decorate sugar cookies.  Unfortunately the red looked more like blood than icing which is unappetizing and the writing looked like B had done it, but it was still quite yummy!

After lighting the candles, we sang "Happy Birthday" to Jesus and the kids blew the candles out.

The kids played, the grown ups chatted, and it was a fun evening celebrating the Savior.  Unto us a child is born!  Happy Birthday, Jesus!
