Christmas Eve Recap

Our Christmas festivities began the night before Christmas Eve (or Christmas Adam as some refer to it) with a meal with the Hubs's brother and his wife and youngest son.  We went to Grandma and Grandpa's after the kids got up from their nap.  We ate and then the kids opened their gifts from Uncle J, Aunt J and L.  I managed to get a couple of pictures of the kids playing with one of their only cousins.

B got a talking Minion Stuart, and C got a Frozen trunk of dress up clothes and jewelry from Uncle J, Aunt J.  They also got a super cool gumball machine that cousin L made in his shop class at school.

Grandpa opened his and Grandma's gifts from Uncle J as well.

Since L was going to be swimming early the next morning at a pool very close to our house, we invited them over for biscuits and gravy the next morning.  However, I wasn't feeling that great, so I didn't get any pictures of breakfast.

Then it was time for my family's annual Christmas get together at Pop and JuJu's.  We headed over there after the kids' nap on Christmas Eve and decided to let the kids go ahead and open their gifts before dinner.  They racked up on some great toys and games and were thrilled with their loot.  B was hoping for Angry Birds and Minions, and if you asked C what she wanted, all she would say was "Frozen" so anything Frozen would suffice.

Hugging her new Frozen nightgown!

Then it was time for dinner.  JuJu set a lovely table as usually with her beautiful Christmas china, and the spread was amazing--turkey, ham, dressing, gravy, mac and cheese, squash casserole, sweet potatoes, corn, green beans, broccoli, rolls, and oh, the desserts!  We are still working on red velvet cake, chocolate derby pie, pecan pie, fudge, divinity, and on and on.

After dinner, it was time for the adults to open their gifts while the kids busied themselves with their new toys.  And I even managed to get a couple of pics of the kids with my brother and his wife.  I am REALLY trying to do better with getting picture of the family members with each other.

I mean, does it get any better for a three-year-old little girl than coloring a Minnie Mouse coloring book while wearing a brand new Elsa crown.  I think not.

Playing Frozen memory with Aunt A = fun times.

And the kids weren't the only ones to leave pleased with their gifts.  I got loads of wonderful gifts, but here are a few of my faves--these adorable leopard Sam&Libby's and this great rhinestone Pave bracelet both from Target.

After packing up all our loot, we headed home, donned our Christmas jammies, and put out biscuits for Santa.  You read that right . . . biscuits . . . because I didn't make cookies with the kids this year for the first time in ages.  We had so much going on, and I just put it off too long.  Any way, I snapped these cute pics of the kids before shooing them off to bed.

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!
