Church Christmas Program

Our church's children's Christmas Program was last night, and it was . . . interesting.  I wish I could say tons of wonderful, glowing things about it, but since this blog serves as my personal journal, I have to be honest.  It could have been better.  But I am still very proud of all of the kids, especially B is did a great job as "Little Elf."

The basic gist of the play is that Santa is upset that he gets all of the attention at Christmas and not Jesus.  So he brings the children of the world to the North Pole and recruits the elves and reindeer to tell them the Christmas story.  B got to throw "pixie dust" and worked hard to know his lines and cues.

C was supposed to play the part of the Star of Bethlehem.  She had been hesitant to participate, but she had learned her one little line and had practiced it each week.  However, when the big day came, and she saw the kid in the Santa costume (see her previously mentioned Santa-phobia), she was having NONE of the play.  So she say in her daddy's lap during the whole thing talking about how "brave" all the other kids were for going up on stage with Santa.  haha

So there you have it.  Honestly, I am hoping they don't try to do a kids Christmas program next year.  They are a lot of work and just add more to do during one of the busiest times of year.  (Did I just say that?)
