Today, the Hubs and I celebrate nine years of wedded bliss. And I am by myself. :) Don't get me wrong, I miss the Hubs like crazy, but I am so happy that he is in the Dominican right now. The fact that he is so willing to serve the Lord makes me love him even more.
But anyway, we got married on a beautiful, rainy Saturday at high noon surrounded by our family and friends. It was one of the happiest days of my life, and I don't think I would change a thing about it.
I love you, Babe!

Sending off The Hubs
So after months of preparation and planning, it if finally time for the Hubs to head off leading a group of 18 teenagers and adults to the Dominican Republic for a mission trip. We were up early in the morning and headed to my parents' house to drop the kiddos off so I could help him get everyone off. I snapped a pic of him holding both kids right before we dropped them off.
After leaving the kids with Pop and JuJu with a small amount of tears (and please note that none of those tears were from the eyes of my kids lol), we headed to the church a little before 8:00 that morning. Half of the group was meeting us at the church, while the other half was heading up to the airport on their own. This is the half that was meeting at the church.
I helped the Hubs weigh bags to make sure they were under the weight limit, check passports, and make sure no one had more than 3 oz of liquids in their carry-on bag. Then we prayed, loaded everyone up and they were off. I will admit that I had a tear in my eye seeing him leave and knowing that he was going to be gone for 8 days, but I was also very proud of him for going and serving the Lord.

Happy Birthday, Hubs!!
Hubs turned the big 3-4 today! And while his birthday usually involves him working until late hours, this year he was actually home in time for dinner! And I have always wanted to make his favorite cake (German chocolate) for him for his birthday, but never have because either he wasn't going to be home or he told me not to because he was watching his weight. Well, he told me not to do it this year, but I did it anyway! So the kids and I went to the store and got him some balloons (garnet and gold, of course, Go Seminoles!) and I got started on his cake. My mom had given me some FSU paper products that she found while on a trip, so I pulled out the napkins for dinner and the paper plates for the cake.
The hubby's favorite homecooked meal is enchiladas, so that was the obvious choice for his birthday dinner. I added in a Mexican salad for some veggies and to have something to offer besides just the enchiladas. It was a hit!
After dinner, my parents came over (Hubby's parents had a meeting to attend), had cake with us, and gave Hubs their gift. He wanted money for his birthday so he could get a cover for his new boat, but they had to throw in one more item . . . a real Duck Dynasty duck call!!! He was pretty excited.
Overall, I think Hubs had a great bday, and I had a blast getting it together for him. Happy Birthday, Hubs!!
